Pennsylvania State Police Security Awareness
The Cumberland County Planning Department will host a meeting with FEMA to discuss the new proposed Flood Insurance Rate Maps. The
meeting will be held on 11/6 from 5-8 PM at the County Planning Office located at 310 Allen Road, Carlisle Pa 17013. The
meeting will be an open house style and residents can stop by at any time
between 5pm and 8pm to meet with FEMA and County staff to speak specifically
about their properties. Insurance specialists will also be on hand to discuss flood
insurance implications of the new maps. Note that the formal public
appeal period will not start until the spring of 2020, so residents will have
plenty of time to determine if they want to appeal the draft maps and if so
prepare necessary studies.

SEPTIC SYSTEM/PUMPING INSPECTION REMINDER
The Dickinson Township staff will forward reminders at the end of September to residents requiring septic pumping. To avoid a rush on the contractors in the area, the community is reminded of the requirement for every owner of an individual sewage system to have septage or other solids removed from the treatment tank at least once every three years. Proof of pumping and/or inspection shall be provided by the owner of the individual system within 30 days of the date of service to the Township. For more information, forms, and a list of septic haulers, please see the Sewage Enforcement section of the website.
CD copies of the Comprehensive Plan are available at the Township building.
