Public Works

The Public Works Department is responsible for a variety of task in the Township to include the following:

Roads

Dickinson Township has approximately 61 miles of roadway to maintain.  The Public Works Department is tasked with the duty of repairing and maintaining the roadways, road sign maintenance, roadside vegetation management and responds to emergencies to include downed trees and flooding.

Snow Removal

The Public Works Department has 4 single axle dump trucks and 1 small dump truck.  To clear 61 miles of road during a normal snow event it takes approximately 6 to 8 hours.

Parks

The Township has two parks; Stuart Park which is located along Pine Road at 3 Barnitz Road, and Lindenwood Park which is located beside the N. Dickinson Elementary School on N. Dickinson School Road.  The Public Works Department is responsible for the daily maintenance of these parks and mow them once a week.

Water System

The Public Works Department performs the maintenance of the Townships water system for the Dickinson Township Municipal Authority.

Facility Maintenance

The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the Townships office complex which includes the office building, Public Works garages, salt shed, fuel pumps and grounds.
               

At the November 18, 2024 Board of Supervisors Meeting. The board passed Resolution 2024-10 to extend the Burn Ban for 30 days.
